Sensex up 240pts; Bajaj Auto zooms 7%

The Sensex has bounced back to higher levels, and is now up 240 points at 11,780.

Bajaj Auto has zoomed nearly 7% to Rs 2,954. TCS has surged over 6% to Rs 2,024.

ONGC has rallied 4.7% to Rs 1,302. Larsen & Toubro has advanced 4% to Rs 2,640, and Reliance has added 3.6% to Rs 882.

Wipro and Satyam have spurted 3.4% each to Rs 559 and Rs 856, respectively. Cipla has jumped over 3% to Rs 681.

ITC and HLL have gained over 2% each at Rs 198 and Rs 282, respectively.

Out of 2,539 stocks traded so far, 1,492 have advanced, 984 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Reliance leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 175.53 crore followed by TCS (Rs 114.37 crore), SBI (Rs 96.22 crore), Satyam (Rs 91.39 crore) and MTNL (Rs 91.01 crore).

Reliance Energy Ventures tops the volume chart with trades of around 63.24 lakh followed by MTNL (46.41 lakh), Himachal Futuristic (29.19 lakh), IFCI (28 lakh) and Reliance Natual Resources (27.23 lakh).
