Sensex up 247pts; ICICI Bank moves up 3%

The Sensex is now up 247 points at 15,057.

The NSE Nifty is up 83 points at 4,586.

Ranbaxy and Reliance Energy have surged around 4.5% each to Rs 458 and Rs 1,242, respectively.

DLF has rallied 3.7% to Rs 625. NTPC and Reliance Communications have advanced 3.5% each to Rs 194 and Rs 499, respectively.

ICICI Bank, BHEL and TCS have gained around 3% each at Rs 780, Rs 1,850 and Rs 815, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 2.8% to Rs 2,780. Satyam has added 2.5% to Rs 375.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates, Cipla and Bharti Airtel are up around 2% each at Rs 212, Rs 205 and Rs 757, respectively.

HDFC Bank has slipped nearly 3% to Rs 1,204. Mahindra & Mahindra has dropped 1.5% to Rs 628, and SBI is down over 1% at Rs 1,615.

Out of 2,625 stocks traded so far, 1,842 have declined, 729 have advanced and 54 are unchanged.
