HDFC, Satyam and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 3% each to Rs 1,857, Rs 411 and Rs 150, respectively.
BHEL has moved up 2.7% to Rs 1,409. Hindalco, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel have added 2.5% each to Rs 142, Rs 2,336 and Rs 727, respectively.
Tata Steel and Reliance have gained 2% each at Rs 660 and Rs 2,015, respectively.
HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have advanced 1.8% each to Rs 933 and Rs 538, respectively.
Tata Motors has slipped 2.6% to Rs 394. Grasim has shed 2% at Rs 1,665, and NTPC is down 1% at Rs 161.
