Sensex up 256pts; Bajaj Auto zooms 6%

The Sensex is now up 256 points at 12,129. The index had opened with a positive gap of 89 points at 11,963, and zoomed to a high of 12,145.

Tata Steel has soared nearly 7% to Rs 612.

Bajaj Auto have zoomed 6% to Rs 3,312, and Hero Honda has rallied 4% to Rs 883. Tata Motors has moved up 3.5% to Rs 962.

ITC has surged 4% to Rs 202. Infosys has advanced nearly 3% to Rs 3,234.

Reliance and ONGC has added 2.7% each to Rs 1,072 and Rs 1,400, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has added 2.5% to Rs 2,692. Ranbaxy has spurted over 2% to Rs 489.

The market breadth continues to remain extremely positive. Out of 2,513 stocks traded so far, 2,008 have advanced, 458 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
