Sensex up 258pts; Guj Amb, HLL rally 5%

The Sensex is now up 258 points at 12,838.

Gujarat Ambuja has surged nearly 5% to Rs 109, and HLL has flared up 4.6% to Rs 176.

Tata Motors and HDFC Bank have rallied nearly 4% each to Rs 769 and Rs 950, respectively. ONGC has added 3.6% to Rs 793.

Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy have advanced around 3.5% each to Rs 656 and Rs 320, respectively.

Wipro and ICICI Bank have gained 3% each at Rs 573 and Rs 851, respectively.

Out of 2,342 stocks traded so far, 1,213 have declined, 1,071 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
