Sensex up 259pts; all index stocks up

The Sensex is now up 259 points at 14,507.

All index stocks are in positive zone.

Ambuja Cements has soared nearly 4% to Rs 136 backed by news of Holcim open offer for additional 20% stake at Rs 154 per share. ACC and Grasim have surged 3% each to Rs 983 and Rs 2,810, respectively.

HDFC and BHEL have rallied over 3% each to Rs 1,963 and Rs 1,720, respectively.

Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco have surged 2.8% each to Rs 636, Rs 2,451 and Rs 143, respectively.

SBI and ITC have advanced 2.3% each to Rs 1,492 and Rs 162, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Satyam, Reliance Energy and NTPC have gained 1.7% each at Rs 504, Rs 425, Rs 737 and Rs 163, respectively.
