Sensex up 25pts; NTPC, Ranbaxy drop

The Sensex is now up 25 points at 13,642.

HDFC Bank has rallied 2.8% to Rs 1,117. TCS and Dr.Reddy's have surged over 2% each to Rs 1,189 and Rs 750, respectively.

Cipla, Reliance Communications and SBI have advanced around 1.3% each to Rs 252, Rs 428 and Rs 1,318, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Maruti are up over 1% each at Rs 867 and Rs 930, respectively.

NTPC and Ranbaxy have dropped over 1.5% each to Rs 146 and Rs 374, respectively. Hindalco and Reliance Energy are down over 1% each to Rs 174 and Rs 529, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,568 stocks traded so far, 1,297 have declined, 1,203 have advanced and 68 are unchanged.
