Sensex up 25pts; ONGC, REL gain 2%

The Sensex is now up 25 points at 14,944.

Tata Steel has soared nearly 7% to Rs 647.

ONGC and Reliance Energy have surged 1.7% each to Rs 823 and Rs 779, respectively.

Grasim and HDFC Bank have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 2,903 and Rs 1,167, respectively. Hindalco is up 1% at Rs 155.

NTPC and Infosys have dropped 1.3% each to Rs 165 and Rs 1,858, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and Wipro are down 1% each to Rs 852, Rs 866 and Rs 463, respectively.

Out of 2,594 stocks traded so far, 1,418 have advanced, 1,097 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
