Sensex up 25pts; Satyam zooms 8%

The Sensex has pared most of its gains and is now up 25 points at 17,643.

The NSE Nifty is up 10 points at 5,164.

Satyam has zoomed over 8% to Rs 458. TCS has soared 4.4% to Rs 923. Infosys and Wipro have surged over 3% each to Rs 1,618 and Rs 424, respectively.

Hindalco has rallied 4.5% to Rs 185, and Tata Steel has gained 2.5% at Rs 792.

HDFC Bank has moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,561. Hindustan Unilever, Ambuja Cements and Tata Motors have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 217, Rs 118 and Rs 716, respectively.

Grasim, Mahindra & Mahindra and Cipla are up nearly 1.5% each to Rs 2,877, Rs 644 and Rs 188, respectively.

HDFC has tumbled 3% to Rs 2,669. BHEL has dropped 2.7% to Rs 2,068, and SBI has shed 2.3% to Rs 2,155.

ONGC and ICICI Bank are down over 1% each at Rs 992 and Rs 1,154, respectively.
