Sensex up 262pts; Reliance gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 262 points at 16,826.

Reliance Energy has zoomed over 9% to Rs 1,102. Maruti has soared 5.5% to Rs 981, and NTPC has surged 4.5% to Rs 196.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied nearly 4% to Rs 2,890. Reliance has gained 3.5% at Rs 2,356.

Reliance Communications, Ranbaxy and Bajaj Auto has advanced around 3% each to Rs 598, Rs 418 and Rs 2,570, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 3% to Rs 1,767. Satyam has slipped 1.7% to Rs 412, and ITC has shed 1.5% to Rs 188.

Out of 2,820 stocks traded so far, 1,467 have declined, 1,304 have advanced and 49 are unchanged.
