Sensex up 271pts; all index stocks up

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 177 points at 17,983. The index is now up 271 points at 18,077.

All  index stocks are in positive zone.

BHEL has soared 3.3% to Rs 2,254, and Hindalco has surged 2.4% to Rs 202.

Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, Reliance Energy and HDFC have rallied over 2% each to Rs 3,594, Rs 1,142, Rs 1,733 and Rs 2,625, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever and Reliance Communications have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 642, Rs 223 and Rs 603, respectively.
