Sensex up 275pts; Grasim, ONGC slip in red

The Sensex is now up 275 points at 9820.

Tata Steel has surged over 8% to Rs 448. Satyam has gained 7.6% at Rs 663. TCS has rallied 7% to Rs 1,662.

HDFC Bank has advanced 5.5% to Rs 735. Bajaj Auto, Dr.Reddy's, Wipro and Hero Honda are up 4-5% each.

Grasim has shed 3% to Rs 1,760. ONGC has dropped 2.3% to Rs 1,008 and ACC has slipped over 1% to Rs 728.

Out of 2,452 stocks traded so far, 1,942 have advanced, 469 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
