Sensex up 287pts; Hindalco zooms 8%

The Sensex is now up 287 points at 19,878.

Hindalco has zoomed 7.7% to Rs 198. NTPC and Reliance have soared over 3% each to Rs 245 and Rs 2,748, respectively.

Reliance Energy has surged 2.6% to Rs 1,868. ONGC and Maruti have rallied over 2% each to Rs 1,328 and Rs 1,016, respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Larsen & Toubro have gained 1.8% each at Rs 2,440 and Rs 4,365, respectively.

Tata Steel, ACC and HDFC Bank have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 893, Rs 1,024 and Rs 1,735, respectively.

BHEL, Hindustan Unilever, Ranbaxy, Dr.Reddy's, SBI and Reliance Communications are up over 1% each.

Satyam, however, has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 460.
