The market is displaying a cautious trend with most of the scrips trading at their earlier gains. The Sensex, as a result, is up 29 points at 6,375. The Nifty is also steady with a points gain at 2,013. The market breadth is positive with 1,459 advances and 585 declines. Infosys has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 20) to Rs 2,110. While Wipro has added Rs 5 to Rs 762, Satyam is up a tad at Rs 416. ITC is up a per cent (Rs 8) at Rs 1,263. While Reliance, with a volume of over 14.96 lakh on the BSE, is weaker by Rs 3 at Rs 477, HLL is down a rupee at Rs 148. HDFC Bank has moved up 2.16% (Rs 10) to Rs 492. While ICICI Bank is up 1.33% (Rs 5) at Rs 365, SBI (up Rs 3 to Rs 586) also is trading withs steady gains. L&T has soared 3.88% (Rs 36) to Rs 974. Zee has gained 2.74% (Rs 5) to Rs 178. Cipla has gained 2.58% (Rs 8) to Rs 307, and Dr. Reddy's is up a per cent (Rs 7) at Rs 846. Ranbaxy, too, is trading a per cent higher (Rs 8) at Rs 1,265. J B Chem Pharma has surged nearly 11% (Rs 43) to Rs 395. While ING Vysya Bank has jumped 10.76% (Rs 65) to Rs 668, Merck has added 6.45% (Rs 34) to Rs 555. Federal Bank, India Cement, Cadila, Abbott, Indus Ind Bank and Syngenta have gained between 4-5%. SAIL is leading the volume table with over 18.5 lakh shares traded on the BSE so far, followed by Reliance (14.96 lakh), NTPC (11.39 lakh), Indus Ind Bank (8.37 lakh) and India Cement (8.9 lakh), respectively. |
