Sensex up 290pts; Rel Energy zooms 5%

The Sensex is now up 290 points at 18,709.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 5%  to Rs 1,718.

Reliance Communications, Tata Steel and Reliance have surged around 2.5% each to Rs 737, Rs 870 and Rs 2,632, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ACC and Hindalco have rallied 2.3% each to Rs 1,465, Rs 1,280 and Rs 183, respectively.

ONGC has soared over 2% to Rs 1,115. ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,072, Rs 1,087 and Rs 842, respectively.

SBI, Maruti and Satyam have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,892, Rs 1,114 and Rs 445, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has slipped 1% to Rs 219.
