Sensex up 292pts; breadth extremely +ve

The Sensex is now up 292 points at 16,536.

The NSE Nifty is up 83 points at 4,970.

Infosys has soared 4.5% to Rs 1,673. ICICI Bank has surged 3.5% to Rs 845.

DLF and Satyam has rallied over 3% each to Rs 641 and Rs 468, respectively.

Wipro and SBI have moved up over 2.5% each to Rs 459 and Rs 1,708, respectively.

HDFC, TCS and HDFC Bank have gained 2.3% each at Rs 2,441, Rs 997 and Rs 1,335, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 535 and Rs 703, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,464 stocks traded so far, 1,890 have advanced, 524 have declined and 50 are unchanged.
