Sensex up 296pts; Hind Unilever slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 296  points at 15,130.

The NSE Nifty is up 75 points at 4,608.

Wipro has zoomed nearly 6% to Rs 381, and Satyam has soared over 5% to Rs 390.

HDFC Bank has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,290. Tata Motors and Jaiprakash (JP) Associates have rallied around 3.5% each to Rs 640 and Rs 207, respectively.

Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel have advanced around 3% each to Rs 513, Rs 791, Rs 2,845 and Rs 780, respectively.

Reliance, ACC and Cipla have gained around 2% each at Rs 2,193, Rs 775 and Rs 208, respectively.

BHEL and ITC have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 1,854 and Rs 186, respectively. SBI has added 1.3% to Rs 1,615.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 1.6% at Rs 227.

Out of 2,697 stocks traded so far, 1,572 have declined, 1,037 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
