Sensex up 296pts; ICICI, HDFC rally 5%

The Sensex is now up 296 points at 15,290.

The NSE Nifty is up 60 points at 4,634.

ICICI Bank and HDFC have zoomed nearly 5% each to Rs 804 and Rs 2,320, respectively. HDFC Bank has soared nearly 4% to Rs 1,319.

Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 3% each to Rs 388 and Rs 678, respectively.

ONGC has moved up 2.7% to Rs 1,019. Jaiprakash Associates and Bharti Airtel have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 209 and Rs 797, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, TCS and Satyam have gained over 2% eahc at Rs 230, Rs 828 and Rs 398, respectively.

Hindalco, Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro are up around 2% each at Rs 158, Rs 663 and Rs 2,893, respectively.
