Sensex up 29pts; Wipro slips 3%

The Sensex is now up 29 points at 18,766.

HDFC has zoomed 3.4% to Rs 2,598. HDFC Bank has surged 2.5% to Rs 1,511.

NTPC has gained 2% at Rs 259. Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Energy and Reliance Communications have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 4,230, Rs 1,845 and Rs 704, respectively.

Wipro has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 445. Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped over 2% to Rs 713.

ICICI Bank, Infosys and ITC have shed 1.5% each at Rs 1,129, Rs 1,617 and Rs 175, respecively.

TCS and Hindustan Unilever are the other prominent losers.
