Sensex up 300pts; HDFC, HUL gain 5%

The Sensex is now up 300 points at 15,110.

The NSE Nifty is up 93 points at 4,596.

Reliance Energy has soared 7.5% to Rs 1,279. DLF has surged 5.5% to Rs 636.

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and HDFC have rallied around 5% each to Rs 234 and Rs 2,336, respectively.

BHEL has gained 4.5% at Rs 1,878. Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have moved up 4% each to Rs 455 and Rs 502, respectively.

TCS and ICICI Bank have added 3.4% each to Rs 819 and Rs 783, respectively.

Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Wipro are up 2.7% each at Rs 622, Rs 2,775 and Rs 365, respectively.

HDFC Bank and SBI have slipped over 1% each to Rs 1,222 and Rs 1,616, respectively.

Out of 2,694 stocks traded so far, 1,744 have declined, 892 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
