Sensex up 305pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex is now up 305 points at 19,244.

HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have soared around 4.5% each to Rs 1,683 and Rs 1,177, respectively.

Maruti has rallied nearly 3% to Rs 995. Wipro has surged 2.5% to Rs 461.

HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Infosys have gained 2% each at Rs 2,765, Rs 724 and Rs 1,600, respectively.

ONGC, Tata Motors, ITC and TCS are the other major gainers.

Bharti Airtel has slipped almost 1% to Rs 902.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,681 stocks traded so far, 1,538 have advanced, 1,070 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
