Sensex up 307pts; Hind Unilever gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 307 points at 16,115.

The NSE Nifty is up 89 points at 4,867.

Ranbaxy has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 482.

TCS has soared over 7% to Rs 973, and Infosys has surged over 6% to Rs 1,510. Wipro and Satyam have rallied over 4% each to Rs 424 and Rs 451, respectively.

Reliance Communications has gained 5% at Rs 518. Hindustan Unilever has added 4% to Rs 245.

DLF has advanced over 3% to Rs 617. ICICI Bank, Reliance Energy and NTPC have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 808, Rs 2,611 and Rs 191, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, ONGC, Maruti and Cipla are up around 2% each at Rs 219, Rs 1,021, Rs 754 and Rs 218, respectively.

Hindalco has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 173. HDFC Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,307.

Out of 2,665 stocks traded, 1,719 have advanced, 883 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
