Sensex up 30pts; Grasim drops 3.5%

The Sensex is now up 30 points at 10,839.

Satyam has surged 4% to Rs 706. Tata Steel has advanced 3.6% to Rs 558, and HDFC has added 3.3% to Rs 1,210.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 2.8% to Rs 2,428. Hindalco and Tata Power spurted over 2% each to Rs 189 and Rs 507, respectively.

ONGC, Tata Motors, Infosys and SBI are up 1-2% each.

Grasim has plunged 3.5% to Rs 1,885. ITC has shed 2.8% to Rs 178, and NTPC has slipped 2.5% to Rs 114.

Dr.Reddy's has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 1,389. Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Auto are the other major losers.

Out of 2,485 stocks traded so far, 1,351 have advanced, 1,080 have declined and 54 are unchanged.
