Sensex up 313pts on fresh buying; M&M down 5%

The Sensex has rallied to higher levels on the back of fresh buying in the market, and the index is now up 313 points at 10,536.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed over 9% to Rs 74. Sterlite and Reliance Communications have surged around 6% each to Rs 288 and Rs 246, respectively.

DLF and Satyam have rallied around 5% to Rs 286 and Rs 303, respectively.

BHEL, ICICI Bank and Wipro have advanced around 4.5% each to Rs 1,145, Rs 429 and Rs 293, respectively.

Tata Steel has moved up over 4% to Rs 263. Reliance Infrastructure, Larsen & Toubro and Infosys have added 3.8% each at Rs 500, Rs 842 and Rs 1,347, respectively.

 

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has slumped 5% to Rs 396. Bharti Airtel has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 695.
