Sensex up 318pts; Tata Steel gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 318 points at 14,459.

HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have zoomed over 4% each to Rs 1,113 and Rs 860, respectively.

Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel and ONGC have soared nearly 4% each to Rs 561, Rs 818 and Rs 805, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Bajaj Auto and Ranbaxy have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 506, Rs 2,305 and Rs 361, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and SBI have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 197 and Rs 1,558, respectively.

Out of 2,549 stocks traded so far, 1,966 have advanced, 535 have declined and 48 are unchanged.
