Sensex up 319pts; DLF, Hindalco soar 6%

The Sensex is now up 319 points at 15,676.

DLF has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 646. Jaiprakash (JP) Associates and Hindalco have soared around 6% each to Rs 233 and Rs 184, respectively.

Satyam has surged 4% to Rs 379. ICICI Bank has rallied nearly 3.5% to Rs 866.

Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, NTPC and Infosy have moved up around 3% each to Rs 720, Rs 2,892, Rs 192 and Rs 1,372, respectively.

Reliance and ITC have gained 2.7% each at Rs 2,303 and Rs 191, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Reliance Energy are up around 2.5% each to Rs 514 and Rs 1,227, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has shed 3.6% at Rs 637, and Bharti Airtel has slipped over 3% to Rs 754.

Maruti has dropped 2.8% to Rs 817. Ambuja Cements is down 1.5% at Rs 119.

Out of 2,594 stocks traded so far, 1,496 have declined, 1,028 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
