Sensex up 31pts at 10,076; HLL, L&T surge

The Sensex continues to exhibit a range-bound movement, and is now up 31 points at 10,076.

The BSE FMCG Index has surged 2.2% to 1813, and the Capital Goods Index has rallied 1.8% to 7110. The Health Care Index is up 1.5% at 3378.

While the Midcap Index has moved up 0.8% to 4784, the Smallcap Index has gained 1.4% to 6224.

Larsen & Toubro has surged 3.8% to Rs 2,288. HLL has moved up 3.6% to Rs 204.

Cipla has cooled-off from the day's high of Rs 582, and is now up 2.7% at Rs 568. Ranbaxy has added 1.6% to Rs 413.

Hero Honda at Rs 904, ITC at Rs 162 and Satyam at Rs 747 are up 2% each. Maruti and Tata Motors are also up 1% each at Rs 774 and Rs 758, respectively.

ICICI Bank has dropped 1.8% to Rs 607.

Infosys has shed 1.5% at Rs 2,860, and Bharti is down 1.2% at Rs 366.

ACC, Tata Steel and Hindalco have slipped 1% each to Rs 592, Rs 388 and Rs 164, respectively.

The market breadth is slightly positive. Out of 2,441 stocks traded so far, 1,429 have advanced, 947 have declined and the 65 are unchanged.
