Sensex up 31pts; Satyam, RCom surge 2%

The Sensex is now up 31 points at 14,893.

Ambuja Cements, Satyam and Reliance Communications (RCom) have rallied around 2% each to Rs 132, Rs 556 and Rs 556, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and ACC have gained over 1.5% each at Rs 2,368 and Rs 1,037, respectively.

Wipro and Bharti Airtel have added 1.3% each to Rs 511 and Rs 865, respectively.

Infosys, Hindalco and NTPC are up 1% each at Rs 1,939, Rs 157 and Rs 154, respectively.

ICICI Bank has tumbled over 2% to Rs 982. HDFC has declined 1% to Rs 1,930.

Out of 2,331 stocks traded so far, 1,546 have advanced, 712 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
