Sensex up 333pts; BHEL slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 333 points at 15,959.

The NSE Nifty is up 82 points at 4,822.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has zoomed 5.7% to Rs 238. ICICI Bank has soared 4.5% to Rs 791.

Infosys and HDFC have surged 4% each to Rs 1,480 and Rs 2,452, respectively.

Wipro and SBI have rallied around 3% each to Rs 421 and Rs 1,671, respectively.

Satyam, HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 408, Rs 1,343 and Rs 826, respectively.

TCS has advanced 2.3% to Rs 854. Reliance, Grasim, Reliance Communications and Mahindra & Mahindra are up around 2% each at Rs 2,391, Rs 2,647, Rs 532 and Rs 663, respectively.

BHEL has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,851. Reliance Energy has shed 1.8% at Rs 1,266.

Out of 2,624 stocks traded so far, 1,999 have advanced, 578 have declined and 47 are unchanged.
