Sensex up 337pts; Banks lead

The Sensex is now up 337 points at 10,345.

Tata Motors has zoomed nearly 6% to Rs 697. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have advanced 5.5% each to Rs 737 and Rs 492, respectively.

Reliance Communications and BHEL have rallied over 5% each to Rs 251 and Rs 1,848, respectively. Gujarat Ambuja has added 4.6% to Rs 104.

ACC, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco and SBI are up over 4% each at Rs 813, Rs 368, Rs 162 and Rs 718, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,016 stocks traded so far, 1,264 have advanced, 678 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
