Sensex up 33pts; Ranbaxy slips 2.5%

The Sensex is now up 33 points at 14,286.

Bharti Airtel and Hero Honda have surged 2.7% each to Rs 812 and Rs 735, respectively. Tata Steel has rallied 2% to Rs 453.

Hindalco and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 151 and Rs 1,696, respectively. HDFC has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,678.

Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Motors and Maruti are up over 1% each.

Ranbaxy has shed 2.5% to Rs 386. HLL and Satyam have slipped 2% each to Rs 196 and Rs 468, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 1.5% to Rs 2,332.

Out of 2,563 stocks traded so far, 1,273 have declined, 1,228 have advanced and 62 are unchanged.
