Sensex up 34pts; breadth fairly -ve

The Sensex is now up 34 points at 15,766.

BHEL has zoomed 5.4% to Rs 1,860. NTPC has soared 3.5% to Rs 163.

Satyam and Reliance Energy have rallied over 2% each to Rs 503 and Rs 730, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 1.7% to Rs 2,660. ONGC and HDFC Bank are up 1% each at Rs 920 and Rs 1,232, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped over 2% to Rs 805. ACC and Tata Motors have shed 1.7% each to Rs 1,120 and Rs 758, respectively.

TCS, Reliance Communications and Tata Steel are down over 1% each to Rs 1,172, Rs 575 and Rs 711, respectively.

Out of 2,614 stocks traded so far, 1,557 have declined, 965 have advanced and 92 are unchanged.
