The Sensex opened 58 points higher at 9,382, but soon slipped into red to a low of 9,305. The index is now up 34 points at 9,358.
Jaiprakash Associates has surged 3.5% to Rs 68. Sterlite has gained 2.7% at Rs 267.
Hindalco has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 51. HDFC Bank has added 1.5% to Rs 951.
Tata Steel, ITC and SBI are up over 1% each.
Infosys has shed 1.7% at Rs 1,247. ICICI Bank and Wipro have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 417 and Rs 234, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti are down 1.3% each at Rs 320 and Rs 581, respectively.
