Select counters have shed some gains owing to profit-taking, thereby minimising the gains of the index in late noon trades. The Sensex is now up 35 points at 6,884, while the Nifty has added 14 points to 2,162. Reliance has soared 5.18% (Rs 29) to Rs 587. ONGC has shed some gains on profit-taking to Rs 902 - up Rs 12 or 1.36%. SBI is up 1.46% (Rs 10) at Rs 728. HDFC Bank since opening trades has logged strong gains, and is currently dealt at Rs 601 - up Rs 15 or 2.48%. ICICI Bank is unchanged with a per cent gain (Rs 3) at Rs 400. Wipro has rebounded into the green with a sharp gain of 3.66% (Rs 26) at Rs 723. Infosys is still up a per cent (Rs 23) at Rs 2,2256, while Satyam is steady at Rs 406 - up Rs 5. Ranbaxy has logged 1.45% gains (Rs 15) to Rs 1,033. Other pharma stocks are largely trading on a flat note. Reliance Energy has moved up 2.90% (Rs 16) to Rs 573. Hindalco at Rs 1,418 (up Rs 15) and HDFC at Rs 803 (up Rs 16 or 2%) have pared gains on profit-taking. Bajaj has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 11) to Rs 1,107, and Hero Honda is up a steady gain of Rs 2 at Rs 562. Maruti, however, has declined 2.81% (Rs 14) to Rs 469, and Tata Motors is down a rupee at Rs 478. HLL has shed 3.27% (Rs 5) to Rs 145. While ITC is trading weaker by Rs 5 at Rs 1,365, Bharti has dropped 2.50% (Rs 6) to Rs 230. Zee continues to exhibit weakness, and has slumped 5.81% (Rs 8) to Rs 144. ACC has inched lower by 1.39% (Rs 5) to Rs 369. While Gujarat Ambuja has dipped 1.22% (Rs 5) to Rs 443, Grasim is down a per cent (Rs 8) at Rs 1,363. |
