Sensex up 351pts; ONGC, Bharti surge 4%

The Sensex is now up 351 points at 14,492.

HDFC Bank has zoomed over 5% to Rs 1,125, and ICICI Bank has soared 4.4% to Rs 862.

ONGC and Bharti Airtel have surged 4% each to Rs 814 and Rs 825, respectively.

Tata Steel and ITC have rallied 3% each to Rs 561 and Rs 158, respectively. Bajaj Auto has moved up 2.8% to Rs 2,314.

Reliance Communications, Ranbaxy, SBI and BHEL have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 507, Rs 362, Rs 1,557 and Rs 1,597, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, Ambuja Cements, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance, Hindalco, ACC and Maruti are up around 2% each.

Out of 2,431 stocks traded so far, 1,975 have advanced, 421 have declined and 35 are unchanged.
