Hindalco has soared 5.5% to Rs 203. Reliance Communications has surged 4.3% to Rs 583, and Larsen & Toubro has gained 3.7% to Rs 2,936.
DLF, Infosys and Reliance have advanced 3.2% each to Rs 643, Rs 1,886 and Rs 2,609, respectively.
BHEL, ICICI Bank and Maruti have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 1,796, Rs 921 and Rs 819, respectively.
HDFC is trading at Rs 2,800 - up 2.5%.
Cipla, ACC and Ambuja Cements have added 2% each to Rs 214, Rs 680 and Rs 111, respectively.
Satyam has tumbled 3.4% to Rs 484.
Hindustan Unilever has plunged 2.5% at Rs 237, and Tata Motors has slipped 2% to Rs 659.
