Sensex up 358pts; NTPC, Tata Mot surge 4%

The Sensex is now up 358 points at 18,884.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 6.3% to Rs 1,706. DLF has soared 4.7% to Rs 861.

NTPC and Tata Motors have surged 3.7% each to Rs 236 and Rs 717, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 4,084 and Rs 193, respectively.

BHEL and HDFC have advanced 2.8% each to Rs 2,556 and Rs 2,633, respectively. Infosys has added 2.6% to Rs 1,572.

ACC and Bajaj Auto are up 2% each at Rs 1,127 and Rs 2,523, respectively.

Out of 2,626 stocks traded so far, 1,863 have advanced, 726 have declined and 37 are unchanged.
