Sensex up 358pts, Tata Steel zooms 7.5%

The Sensex is now up 358 points at 11,024.

After opening with a positive gap of 69 points at 10,735, the index has continued to surge ahead. The index touched a high of 11,051.

Tata Steel has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 552. Larsen & Toubro has surged 6.7% to Rs 2,450, and Bajaj Auto has soared over 5% to Rs 2,932.

HDFC has advanced nearly 5% to Rs 1,209. Grasim and ITC have rallied over 4% each to Rs 1,993 and Rs 188, respectively.

Out of 2,297 stocks traded so far, 1,867 have advanced, 387  have declined and 43 are unchanged.
