Sensex up 35pts; Maruti, HDFC Bank drop 3%

The Sensex is now up 35 points at 18,561.

DLF has soared 3.5% to Rs 851. HDFC has surged 2.7% to Rs 2,630.

Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 1,645 and Rs 4,034, respectively.

Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto have advanced 2% each to Rs 706 and Rs 2,520, respectively.

Infosys, NTPC and Hindustan Unilever are up over 1% each at Rs 1,550, Rs 230 and Rs 204, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Maruti have tumbled 3% each to Rs 1,545 and Rs 938, respectively.

ITC has shed 1.6% at Rs 182. Tata Steel and SBI have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 808 and Rs 2,213, respectively.

ACC and ICICI Bank are down over 1% each at Rs 1,090 and Rs 1,114, respectively.

Out of 2,773 stocks traded so far, 1,711 have advanced, 1,008 have declined and 54 are unchanged.
