Sensex up 379pts; ICICI Bank surges 4%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 324 points at 15,613, and touched a high of 15,718 in opening trades. The index is now up 379 points at 15,668.

The NSE Nifty is up 116 points at 4,725.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed 5% to Rs 210. ICICI Bank has soared 4.4% to Rs 840.

Wipro, DLF, Reliance Energy and Infosys have surged 4% each to Rs 415, Rs 622, Rs 1,197 and RS 1,415, respectively.

Satyam has rallied 3.3% to Rs 404, and Bharti Airtel has gained 3% at Rs 824.

BHEL, Reliance Communications and HDFC have moved up nearly 3% each to Rs 1,925, Rs 523 and Rs 2,450, respectively.
