Sensex up 379pts; Satyam zooms 8%

The NSE Nifty is up 98 points at 5,187.

Technology stocks has zoomed following the announcement of STPI scheme extension by the Finance minister.

Satyam has zoomed 8.5% to Rs 481. TCS has soared nearly 5% to Rs 926. Infosys and Wipro have surged over 4% each to Rs 1,737 and Rs 477, respectively.

DLF has rallied 6% to Rs 709. HDFC has gained 5% at Rs 2,857.

Jaiprakash Associates has moved up 3.5% to Rs 260. Larsen & Toubro, Hindalco and Tata Steel have added nearly 3% each to Rs 3,033, Rs 192 and Rs 800, respectively.

SBI and ICICI Bank are up over 2.5% each at Rs 1,783 and Rs 917, respectively.

 

Bharti Airtel is down 2.5% at Rs 905.

Out of 2,603 stocks traded so far, 1,549 have advanced, 983 have declined and 71 are unchanged.
