Sensex up 37pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex is now up 37 points at 15,502.

NTPC has soared 3% to Rs 187. Cipla has surged 2.5% to Rs 184.

Hindustan Unilever has moved up 1.6% to Rs 214, and Tata Steel has gained 1.4% at Rs 693.

ICICI Bank, Wipro and Grasim are up around 1% each at Rs 915, Rs 471 and Rs 3,050, respectively.

Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped around 2% each to Rs 875 and Rs 702, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has shed 1.8% to Rs 844.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,733 stocks traded so far, 1,482 have advanced, 1,177 have declined and 74 are unchanged.
