Sensex up 37pts; HDFC up 2%

The Sensex is now trading 37 points higher at 16,944.

The Nifty is trading 5 points higher at 5030.

Bharti has advanced 2.5% to Rs 838, HDFC is up 2% to Rs 2,680 and HDFC Bank has gained 1.5% to Rs 1,401.

Reliance Infra has advanced 1.3% to Rs 1,340.  Jaiprakash Associates have gained over 1%. ITC,  RComm, SBI, TCS, DLF, ONGC and Cipla are trading over 0.5%. 

Tata Motors and Hindalco are down 1.9% to Rs 649 and Rs 194 respectively. Maruti has lost 1.8% to Rs 789.

M&M has declined 1.1% to Rs 645. ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, NTPC, Ranbaxy and Grasim are the other major losers.
