Sensex up 37pts; L&T slips 3%

The Sensex is now up 37 points at 17,564.

The NSE Nifty is up eight points at 5,141.

DLF has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 812. Larsen & Toubro has tumbled over 3% to Rs 3,515.

Bajaj Auto and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped over 2% each to Rs 2,230 and Rs 645, respectively.

HDFC has shed 1.6% at Rs 2,879. Reliance Energy and Tata Steel have declined 1.3% each to Rs 1,960 and Rs 762, respectively.

ACC, ICICI Bank, Ambuja Cements and NTPC are down around 1% each at Rs 764, Rs 1,094, Rs 116 and Rs 204, respectively.

Infosys has soared 5% to Rs 1,554, and Satyam has surged nearly 4% to Rs 406. TCS has rallied over 3% to Rs 911, and Wipro has advanced over 2% to Rs 419.

ITC and Ranbaxy have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 195 and Rs 379, respectively.
