Sensex up 38 pts, Bharti surges

The Sensex, which advanced to a high of 6,908 in early noon trades, is moving in a narrow range as most of the counters are largely unchanged from their earlier gains. The Sensex is now up 38 points at 6,898, while the Nifty has jumped 16 points to 2,128.

Infosys is unchanged with a per cent gain (Rs 17) at Rs 2,250. TCS, Wipro, Satyam, too, are up with steady gains.

ONGC (up Rs 4 to Rs 934) is trading in a narrow range, while Reliance is up a notch at Rs 575.

SBI and ICICI Bank are up Rs 3 each at Rs 689 and Rs 435, respectively.

Bharti has flared up 3.58% (Rs 8) to Rs 235. While Hindalco has added 1.27% (Rs 14) to Rs 1,133, Tata Power is up 1.94% (Rs 7) at Rs 386.

Dr. Reddy's has gained 1.85% (Rs 13) to Rs 736, while Cipla is lacklustre at Rs 288 - down Rs 2. Ranbaxy is trading with steady gains at Rs 1,068 - up Rs 3.

Hero Honda (up Rs 4 to Rs 543). Bajaj (down Rs 8 to Rs 1,228) is moving in a narrow range, while Maruti is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 433.
