Sensex up 38 pts, Heavyweights firm

The Sensex is now up 39 points at 6,888, while the Nifty has gained 13 points to 2,161.

Reliance is trading firm with a surge of 4.62% (Rs 26) to Rs 584. ONGC has moved up 2.33% (Rs 21) to Rs 910.

SBI has advanced 1.96% (Rs 14) to Rs 731. While HDFC Bank has gained 2.75% (Rs 16) to Rs 602, ICICI Bank is steady at Rs 401 - up Rs 4 or 1.11%.

Infosys has upped its gains by 1.10% (Rs 24) to Rs 2,242, and Satyam is up 1.31% (Rs 5) at Rs 406. Wipro, however, is trading lower by 2.80% (Rs 20) at Rs 717.

Hindalco at Rs 1,421 (up Rs 18 or 1.28%), HDFC at Rs 809 (up Rs 22 or 2.78%), Reliance Energy at Rs 570 (up Rs 13 or 2.38%) and Tisco at Rs 437 (up Rs 6 or 1.49%) are exhibiting decent gains.

HLL has dropped 3.14% (Rs 5) to Rs 145, while ITC has lost 1.35% (Rs 18) to Rs 1,363.

Zee has tumbled 5.41% (Rs 7) to Rs 143, and Bharti has slipped further by 2.52% (Rs 6) to Rs 230.

Bajaj has rolled back into the green to Rs 1,102 - up Rs 7. Other auto counters, however, are displaying weak trends.
