Satyam has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 478. DLF has soared over 7% to Rs 716, and Hindalco has surged 6.5% to Rs 198.
Infosys, Wipro and HDFC have rallied around 4.5% each to Rs 1,741, Rs 479 and Rs 2,842, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associated has moved up nearly 4% to Rs 261. TCS has gained 3.6% at Rs 915.
Reliance and Tata Steel have advanced 2.8% each to Rs 2,664 and Rs 799, respectively. SBI and Larsen & Toubro have added 2.5% each to Rs 1,781 and Rs 3,014, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has shed 2.5% at Rs 904, and Reliance Communications (RCom) has slipped 1.7% to Rs 575.
Out of 2,681 stocks traded so far, 1,585 have advanced, 1,029 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
