Sensex up 38pts; BHEL, NTPC surge 3%

The Sensex is now up 38 points at 10,790.

BHEL and NTPC have surged over 3% each to Rs 2,173 and Rs 120, respectively. Tata Motors has gained 2.5% at Rs 750.

Larsen & Toubro has advanced 2% to Rs 2,293. Ranbaxy and Dr.Reddy's are up 1% each to Rs 375 and Rs 1,403, respectively.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 769.

Out of 1,998 stocks traded so far, 1083 have advanced, 833 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
