Sensex up 38pts; NTPC, HDFC spurt

The Sensex has moved back above the 10,200 level and is now up 38 points at 10,206.

NTPC has added 2.6% to Rs 126. HDFC has advanced 2.5% to Rs 1,363.

Cipla and Ranbaxy has gained over 2% each at Rs 554 and Rs 458, respectively.

BHEL, Tata Power, HLL, Tata Steel, Grasim and Hindalco are up 1-2% each.

Dr.Reddy's is down nearly 3% at Rs 1,350.

Larsen & Toubro and Bajaj Auto have shed 1.7% each to Rs 2,294 and Rs 2,530, respectively.

Out of 2,544 stocks traded so far, 1,680 have declined, 808 have advanced and the rest are unmoved.
