Sensex up 38pts; Ranbaxy, ICICI shine

The Sensex is now up 38 points 12,405.

HDFC has surged 4% to Rs 1,502. Ranbaxy and ICICI Bank has rallied 2.5% each to Rs 431 and Rs 704, respectively.

ONGC and SBI have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 1,202 and Rs 1,013, respectively. HDFC Bank has added 1% to Rs 908.

Larsen & Toubro has slipped 1.4% to Rs 1,280. Satyam and Maruti are down over 1% each at Rs 822 and Rs 952, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,345 stocks traded so far, 1,272 have advanced, 983 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
